1 (One) Whisk

1 (One) Measuring Cup

1 (One) Mesh Strainer

1 (One) Spatula – Optional

1 (One) Blender – Optional

Containers for Wheat Paste Deployment

Ingredients

2 (Two) Cups Water + Additional Water for Initial Flour Mixture

1 (One) Cup Flour

1/2 (One-Half) Cup Sugar – Optional

Instructions

Pour the 2 cups water into the pot.

Begin heating the pot of water to a boil.

While the pot of water is heating, pour the 1 cup of flour into the mixing bowl.

Slowly pour the additional water into the mixing bowl, mixing the flour with the perforated spoon thoroughly to prevent any chunks from forming.

When the flour-water mixture reaches a paste-like consistency, stop adding water. This mixture should not be runny. Mix thoroughly with a whisk to break up any remaining chunks.

When the pot of water comes to a rolling boil, turn off the heat, and slowly pour the flour-water mixture into the boiling water, mixing the water rapidly.

Once the wheat paste is mixed, add sugar if desired. Sugar makes the wheat paste more sticky, making poster application easier.

Pour the wheat paste through the mesh strainer, scraping the bottom of the strainer to prevent clogging.

Discard any chunks separated by straining, or blend chunks with water to make more wheat paste.

Pour wheat paste into containers for deployment.

This wheat paste recipe will provide enough wheat paste for 2 8.5″x11″ posters, 1 1/2 11.5″x16″ posters, or 1 36″x48″ poster. Modify quantity of ingredients and size of pot and mixing bowl as needed. Ketchup bottles are a quick and effective way to deploy wheat paste. Avoid glass for wheat paste containers.

Camera or Camcorder for Documentation – Optional

Deployment

To deploy posters, you want two activists putting up the posters, and one activist filming and documenting if available. Additional activists can serve as lookouts as available. The bag will contain the wheat paste, posters, rollers in a plastic grocery bag. After scouting an area for placements, park in an area out of line of site of any potential placements. When activists arrive at the placement location, the first activist removes and unrolls the poster while the second activist sprays the base layer of wheat paste with the ketchup bottle. The first activist then places the poster on the wheat pasted surface, pushing it up from bottom to top. Ensure the underside of the corners have wheat paste applied. The second activist then places a second layer of wheat paste on top of the poster, and the second begins rolling the wheat paste onto the poster, in single strokes from bottom top. The second activist can the assist in rolling with the second roller. Once the poster is saturated, place the rollers into the plastic grocery bag, and all activism items back into the backpack, and leave the activism site.

Tips

Scout any area you plan to poster beforehand. Know your exits, and how much traffic the area sees when you plan to poster. If your being followed by a leftist activist, taking alleys can deter further tailing. Wear muted clothing without labels or logos to avoid attracting attention, and to avoid identification, avoid wearing jewelry, and wear a covid mask and a hat. Electrical boxes, bus stops, large stoplight poles, and walls with wheat paste posters already applied make great targets. Be especially cautious in small towns, as local law enforcement is more willing to take more time to enforce petty laws than in larger cities, that typically have demoralized, overworked law enforcement.
